RIO – Pletnev: Trumpet Concerto & 14 Mémoires musicales
Studio Recording
January 2025 // Bratislava, Slovakia
featuring Sergei Nakariakov, Rachmaninoff International Orchestra, and conductors Mikhail Pletnev and Vladislav Lavrik

Two world premiere recordings on one album: Mikhail Pletnev has dedicated his Trumpet Concerto (2024) to the exceptional trumpet player Sergei Nakariakov who is also the soloist in this atmospheric recording with the Rachmaninoff International Orchestra, conducted by Vladislav Lavrik. In the second part of the album, Mikhail Pletnev himself conducts the RIO in his piece 14 Mémoires musicales (2024). In this cycle, he's let some of his musical memories from his childhood and youth flow into 14 musical images that captivate the listener like a colourful kaleidoscope. The themes and tunes seem familiar but are brand-new compositions. A masterful play with everyone’s own musical memories!
