World-class lyric soprano Lisette Oropesa has chosen ten virtuoso concert arias by W. A. Mozart for her debut solo album which also marks the start of her collaboration with SFCRC as Exclusive Artist. Lisette thinks of Mozart as her foundation and started to feel a strong connection to his music when she studied his concertos as a young flautist: “As a former instrumentalist, I approach this special repertoire the same way with my voice as I did with my flute. The difference now is, as a grown woman, I feel that I have a deeper connection to his musical language.” Lisette’s musical partners for the recording at Himmelfahrtskirche in Munich were conductor Antonello Manacorda and the international orchestral ensemble “il pomo d’oro”.
