A Heartfelt Thank You – And Goodbye!
With the retirement of our Managing Director and Producer Job Maarse, the San Francisco Classical Recording Company (SFCRC) ceased its recording activities in 2025. We look back on more than seven wonderful years and would like to thank our incredible singers, musicians and conductors; our amazing colleagues in the administration of orchestras, choirs, concert halls and opera houses; our colleagues at our labels EuroArts and Pentatone and at our own headquarters in San Francisco. Finally, we would like to thank our highly skilled sound engineers and their teams at Polyhymnia and Soundmirror. What a joyful journey it has been, based on artistry, inspiration, hard (team)work, dedication, courage, stamina, and the occasional leap of faith!
Thanks to the vision and generous support of our founder, we were fortunate enough to create a catalogue of 40 recordings, from recitals, concerts, orchestra and choir albums to 15 operas/operettas (a highlights compilation and 14 complete recordings). Notably, most of our opera recordings have been studio recordings, which is rare in today's recording industry.
We have collaborated with long-standing artistic friends and discovered new talent along the way. We and our partners have worked all over Europe and in parts of the US and have always done our best to organize every recording in the best possible setting. At the conclusion of our endeavour, we take great pride in having contributed to the recording market in collaboration with our partners through the release of our 40 albums, all of which have been recorded in high-definition sound.
How can you contact us from now on? For any feedback, questions or concerns, please get in touch with our production manager, Christina Gembaczka (production@sanfranciscocrc.com), who is based in Europe and will handle all remaining administrative matters concerning SFCRC.
Thank you and goodbye. E viva la musica, sempre!
